Our virtual learning and enrichment programme: what, why and how?

Our virtual learning provision is well established and benefits from frequent updates as new practices and resources become available. We bring into our online lessons all of our learning of the nuances of effective online teaching, assessment and feedback that we have acquired over the last two academic years.
Our teachers use Zoom and GMeet as their main interactive platforms to see and speak with students. However, they also incorporate a range of learning technology to support students, their learning and assessment. In particular, Google Classroom is used by all of our teachers to communicate with their students, share learning tasks, resources and links to virtual GMeet or Zoom lessons. Students will be provided with Google Classroom join codes for each of their subject classes.
You may notice that your child does not seem to write on paper for some subjects; this is because students often record their learning in e-Book form or using electronic platforms. Teachers mark and assess electronically during virtual learning - this may involve students working on paper and sharing a photo or it may require them to share an electronic document or engage directly with a portal which conducts live assessment. Again, this is an area where teachers use a variety of approaches depending upon the context involved.

In addition to curriculum learning, all students will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of virtual enrichment activities in lieu of a face-to-face ECA program. This will follow the pre-existing format of our highly successful Virtual Enrichment Calendar.
