What is the school’s policy on celebrating birthdays in school?

Primary Campus

If you plan to bring a birthday cake or small cupcakes into school to celebrate your child’s birthday, please discuss this in advance with the Class Teacher, but ‘mini parties’ or ‘party bags’ are not allowed to be distributed in school.

The Primary Campus policy on birthday invitations is that they should only be distributed in school if they are for:

  1. The whole class
  2. All of the girls
  3. All of the boys

We request that parents inform the Class Teacher when invitations are distributed as there have been occasions when students have not delivered all of their invites. This long-standing rule helps to ensure that students are not made to feel ‘left out’ and thus avoids unnecessary upset.

Secondary Campus

Parents are asked to arrange any celebrations outside of school time. If you wish to arrange a birthday cake or issue any invite, please communicate with the Form Tutor.
